Floway is the first smart flower vending machine service in the Baltics, founded in February 2024 in Latvia as SIA "Floway". The founder is Kārlis Ozoliņš. Floway operates in Riga and Pieriga with 13 machines located in shopping centres, business centres, supermarkets and Riga Airport. Machines operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Each bouquet is crafted at the company florist studio in Mārupe and immediately placed in a water reservoir. A temperature and humidity-controlled chain (8-10°C) is maintained from the studio to the machine - flowers stay in a controlled temperature even during transport. Bouquets stay in the machine on average approx 2 days. As a result, Floway flowers stay fresh at home approximately 2 weeks on average, while flowers bought at shops typically last 5-7 days. In 2026 Floway plans to expand its network by installing 12 more machines, reaching a total of 25 machines in Riga and Pieriga - even closer to customers. Each bouquet is photographed in real time before being placed in the machine. Project investment exceeds 300,000 EUR. Floway is a finalist of the Latvian Rural Forum competition "Dižprojekts 2025".

How Floway was born
It all started with a simple question - why can't you buy flowers exactly when you really need them? On a Friday evening, on a holiday morning, or on the way to the airport at midnight?
Traditional flower shops and salons operate at set hours, while home delivery takes time and advance planning. Moreover, flowers that have been sitting on a store shelf for several days have already lost part of their freshness and beauty.
From idea to first machine
Floway is a Latvian family-owned business founded by Kārlis Ozoliņš. The company was born from a desire to create something genuinely new, innovative and valuable. SIA "Floway" was established in February 2024, and by June the first smart flower vending machine was installed at RIX Riga Airport.
The idea is simple but ambitious: to build a system where flowers are always fresh, available anytime, and where the customer gets exactly what they see. No surprises, no disappointments.
Today Floway is the first service of its kind in the Baltics with 13 machines in Riga and surroundings, and in 2026 we plan to expand to 25 machines. At our florist studio in Mārupe, experienced florists craft fresh arrangements from the best available flowers every day. Each bouquet is unique, made with love and professionalism.

Why do Floway flowers stay fresh approximately 2 weeks?
The main reason is an uninterrupted freshness chain. Every step - from flower arrival to the moment you open the machine - happens at a controlled temperature. Flowers are not exposed to heat or drying out, so at home they stay fresh on average up to approximately 2 weeks, while shop-bought flowers typically last 5-7 days.

If you have noticed that Floway product photos look different from other flower shop offerings, there is a good reason.
We do not show staged, idealized catalog images. Every photo is taken in real time when the bouquet is placed in the machine. This means what you see in the online store is exactly what you receive. Precisely that bouquet, in those colors and with those same flowers.
In other stores you see a professionally photographed "ideal" bouquet. However in reality, when ordering the same bouquet, some flower type may not be available, color may differ, and the result may not match expectations. With Floway this problem does not exist, because each bouquet is unique and you see exactly what awaits you in the machine.
